We attended Chusok, Korean Thanksgiving, again this year at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens. Unfortunatly Ivan brought the rain and didn’t let us have much fun. They shut down the performances on the stage about 15 minutes after we arrived, which was late due to crappy MapQuest directions. (“Turn on to 95” “North or South?” “um, it just says 95”. “I don’t see any sign to 495” “Well it looks like 1st Ave. joins up with it after a couple of blocks, go on 1st Ave., ok this should be 495, follow it for 6 miles and look for 108th and take a left” six miles later “Ok, here’s 100th, 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 107, 108, wait! it’s one-way, I can’t turn left. I’ll have to take 109. These other Aves. don’t match what’s on the map.” “That map is for Queens, we’re still in Manhatten”.)
Here’s a cute police car Sunghee took a picture of.
Here we are!
Do you want the BBQ chicken on a stick or the rice tubes in the melt-your-face-off hot sauce?
I’m the only european person here,
Oh, both the BBQ chicken on a stick or the rice tubes in the melt-your-face-off hot sauce?
CJ did not like the super special health apple juice. (I thought I had the website for this stuff written down, but the domain I have written down is not registered, so no link for now.)
Dinner in Little Korea, 32nd and Broadway
Look at all these side dishes!
More!
Meat! Cooked on your table!
Peppers, with fried minnows. I’m serious.
More meat! It’s all beef, the stuff on the right is sliced, the stuff on the left is cubed.
CJ likes it.
